Sculpting the Anatomy of Facial Expression on Small Skulls in Wax

In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the anatomy behind facial expression by sculpting facial muscles directly onto small skulls in wax. Using anatomical principles as a starting point, we will examine how the underlying muscles shape the face and contribute to movement and expression. Participants will learn how to translate anatomical knowledge into a three-dimensional sculptural representation, gaining a better understanding of facial anatomy through observation, touch and making.
Microneurosurgery, hemostasis and neuroanatomy

In this presentation, the participants will gain insight into the intriguing world of microneurosurgery, hemostasis and neuroanatomy as seen by the surgeon through the surgical microscope.
Inside the Heart – Surgical Anatomy: from Anatomy to Aortic Valve Replacement

During this interactive hands-on workshop, participants discover the anatomy of the heart from the perspective of a cardiac surgeon. Using pig hearts, we go through the most important anatomical structures step by step and link them to common surgical procedures. We conclude with a practical simulation of an aortic valve replacement, in which participants perform the essential steps of the procedure themselves.
Pediatric Basic Life Support

In this workshop, you can refresh your knowledge and skills regarding resuscitation for infants and children (according to the most recent ERC guidelines) through hands-on training.
Performing and Interpreting Spirometry

This practical workshop provides participants with experience in performing spirometry and interpreting the results. Participants will learn how to perform a technically correct spirometry test, recognize common pitfalls, and apply a structured approach to interpreting spirometric patterns in clinical practice.

Behind the scenes of sleep research: from sensor to sleep scoring

What happens after all the sensors are attached? How is it determined whether someone is sleeping well? During this workshop, you will discover step by step how a sleep study is conducted. We will take you through the sleep lab, discuss the recording of sleep parameters, and explain how sleep stages and events are scored and interpreted.

In this workshop we will explore step by step how physiologic changes in the fetus can be analyzed by good analysis of the fetal heart trace. After this workshop you will be able to impress midwives and gynaeoclogists both by your understanding of fetal physiology and by the harmonic and musical way you can explain these.
OUR LECTURES
The mental health of physicians, the impact on being a physician and how to cope with negative experiences

Scientific evidence shows that physicians are having more alcohol problems and commit more suicide than the average population. We will look at the data and discuss possible explanations.We will also give some clues about what can be done to cope with the pressure and the often-hard life of the profession as a physician.
Introduction to Oral, Maxillofacial, and Facial Surgery: science, art, and passion

Oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) is a multidisciplinary specialty at the interface of medicine and dentistry. This presentation explores its key domains, including dentoalveolar, craniofacial, orthognathic and aesthetic surgery, traumatology, and head and neck oncology. Using clinical cases, it illustrates how OMFS combines functional reconstruction, oncological safety, facial aesthetics, and multidisciplinary care.
